Riento Guitars Commitment to Sustainability

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Worthy of the Wood

A classical guitar asks a great deal from nature. A soundboard. A back. Sides. A neck. A fingerboard. Each piece of wood has its own origin, its own character and its own irreplaceable value.

At Riento we have carried one question from the beginning:

Does this wood deserve to become an instrument and do we deserve to use it?

European craft, breathing life into the forest

Every Riento guitar has been crafted in Europe. Our patented Lens Resonance System® soundboard system was developed in Finland and is used in every instrument we make. Staying close to home also keeps our process more transparent: shorter routes, fewer unnecessary steps and a supply chain we can stand behind.

No shortcuts. No careless choices. No distance from responsibility.

100% EU Manufactured
A tradition rooted in 1977
Up to 10x Less shipping distance than Asia-made guitars

Craft that carries responsibility

Craft that carries responsibility

The workshop in Finland runs on renewable energy. Larger domestic offcuts are used to heat the building. Smaller pieces are saved for bracing, inlays, repairs and future details whenever possible.

Our makers have spent years learning how to take less from each piece of wood and give more back through the instrument. Responsible craft begins long before the first cut. It lives in the material choices, in the hands that shape them and in the life we build into every guitar.

Where we are heading

Every year we find new ways to reduce our impact, improve our sourcing and be more honest about both. Here is what we are working toward.

FSC/PEFC Certification
We are working toward verified, internationally recognised certification for our sourcing practices.

ESG Report
We are preparing a clear annual account of our environmental, social and governance progress.
Tree planting partnership
We are developing a partnership so that every guitar sold contributes to planting trees in Finnish forests.
This page will grow
As we make progress, this page will be updated. Accountability means showing the journey, not just the destination.
